Introduction
Affiliation of your samples allows sharing of your confidential results with a third party organization ("registry"). The policy for what is shared is specific to each registry and detailed below.
Selection of affiliation indicates your consent for VGL to share your information in accordance with the policy. This is non-revocable, and the registry or registries will forever after have access to the records.
Selection of the primary affiliation determines the first three letters of the VGL case number that is assigned.
Policies
American Dexter Cattle Association – ADCA (DEX)
A notice of genotype on file and a parentage result involving the sample tested will be sent to the ADCA Registrar. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Diagnostic results (color testing, chondrodysplasia, PHA, polled and A2) are not provided to ADCA by the VGL. Diagnostic results must be forwarded to the ADCA Registrar by the tester in order for the results to be included in the ADCA Registry information.
Heritage Dexter Cattle Registry of Australia – HDCRA (HDC)
A copy of genotype and parentage result involving the sample tested will be sent to Heritage Dexter Cattle Registry of Australia. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Diagnostic results (color testing, chondrodysplasia, PHA, polled and A2) are not provided to Heritage Dexter Cattle Registry of Australia by the VGL.
American Kerry Cattle Association – AKCA (KCC)
Results for the sample tested will be available to American Kerry Cattle Association. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. American Kerry Cattle Association may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
American Miniature Jersey Association & Registry – AMJA (MJA)
Results for the sample tested will be available to American Miniature Jersey Association & Registry. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. American Miniature Jersey Association & Registry may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
International Miniature Zebu Association – IMZA (IMZ)
Results for the sample tested will be available to International Miniature Zebu Association. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. International Miniature Zebu Association may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
Legacy Group (LEG)
A copy of the results involving the sample tested will be made available to the Legacy Registrar. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Legacy may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
Pineywoods Cattle Foundation (PCF)
A copy of the results involving the sample tested will be made available to the Pineywoods Cattle Foundation Registrar. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Pineywoods Cattle Foundation may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
Purebred Dexter Cattle Association - PDCA (PDC)
Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. No results are provided to PDCA by the VGL, and must be forwarded to the PDCA Registrar by the tester.
Miniature Jersey Herd Book & Registry (MJH)
A copy of the results involving the sample tested will be made available to the Miniature Jersey Herd Book & Registry. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Miniature Jersey Herd Book & Registry may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
Purebred Mini Jersey Society (PMJ)
A copy of the results involving the sample tested will be made available to the Purebred Mini Jersey Society. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Purebred Mini Jersey Society may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
Red Devon USA (DCA)
A copy of the results involving the sample tested will be made available to the Red Devon USA Registrar. Parentage verification or identity confirmation may be requested by referencing case numbers. Red Devon USA may update the record and request additional testing on the sample.
