Golden Retriever Health Panel
The Golden Retriever health panel bundles together several DNA tests that are relevant to Golden Retriever health. The panel includes:
- Congenital Ichthyosis 1 & 2
- Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (CMS)
- Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
- Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL)

Canine Genetic Diversity
The UC Davis VGL’s canine diversity test measures genetic diversity within a breed by assessing each dog’s internal relatedness (IR) and comparing it to the overall breed population. Breeders can then use the VGL mating tool to choose pairings that help produce more genetically diverse offspring.
